February 28, 2007 - For the 3 people who haven't seen them yet, the March 5th TV Guide scans

.

The Fox House site also features two HQ scans of the two different covers, as well as video clips of Hugh and Dave Mathews, plus information about the Red Cross Repsol Honda signed by Hugh auction to place between March 15 -24th, via ebay.

Hugh also donated this signed photo to the Luke Neuhedel Foundation, beginning March 3.

February 26, 2007 - Candid photos from the People Magazine photoshoot - March 11, 2005. Please don't crop the watermark, plop it into photobucket etc... and claim them as your own. Thanks for your kind cooperation.

The cast of House is featured in TV Guide this week. Here is a small photo of one of the covers, as it appears there is more than one. How many? This I do not know. When I get my copy I'll post the scans, of course. The issue also mentions (with a photo) that a replica of the Repsol Honda motorcycle House rides has been signed by Hugh and will be up for auction beginning March 8 to benefit the Red Cross. Stay tuned for more details.

Hugh checks in at number 55 on Channel 4's (UK) 100 Greatest Sex Symbols. It also seems that Hugh is too sexy for words. :-)

It appears those "official" House MD mugs and T-shirts we've been waiting for just might become a reality

February 23, 2007 - If you find yourself with time to spare, have a go at the Hugh jigsaw puzzle! You'll need flash to play. Just move the pieces with your mouse.

Hugh Laurie at the PEOPLE/Entertainment Industry Foundation SAG Awards party, Jan 28.

Non-hires: (for now)

I know these have been on the site for quite a while, but not all of them were hires. And now they are! The rest of this set are in the photo gallery.

February 19, 2007 - Promo photos for House ep #3.16 - Top Secret - can be found on the season three page. Three season one promo photos that haven't been posted on this site - From Three Stories and Fidelity.

For those of you who are bedeviled by the videos on the Fox site, I've added the interviews with Stephen Fry and Hugh with David Morse to the video page

December Interview with Dr. Lisa Sanders, a Yale School of Medicine faculty member and consultant for House, whose New York Times Magazine column "Diagnosis" helped inspire the show. Hugh Excerpt:

On a trip to the set in Los Angeles last week, Sanders said, “House” star Hugh Laurie asked her if she thought the show would ever run out of new story lines. Sanders said she assured him it would not, as every day, a different patient walks in her door with a different story.

“You never run out of stories, because this is what doctors talk about all the time,” she said.

James Randi, who Hugh and Stephen Fry worked with for an episode of “James Randi – Psychic Investigator,” recalls the night the fire alarm went off at the Manchester hotel the three were staying at while producing the show:

SKEPTIC IN THE HOUSE

Back in 1991, I taped a series for Granada TV at their Manchester studios. It was titled, “James Randi – Psychic Investigator.” For one episode, I invited the very popular TV stars Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie to participate. These are both very level-headed guys who deride the paranormal and the supernatural in much the same way that I do. To observe this, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOi1Jj11fo4 where you’ll see a very clever skit in which Hugh Laurie pretty well borrows from the phrasing of a Geller performance to portray a typical “psychic” guessing-session, when interviewed by Stephen Fry.

We all three – Fry, Laurie, and I – stayed at the Manchester Holiday Inn while producing the series. One night, the fire alarm went off and a thousand or so guests of the hotel poured out onto the streets clad in white bathrobes, and looking very much as if the Roman Senate had assembled outdoors and late at night. Well, Fry and Laurie were quickly recognized by the crowd, though I went pretty well unnoticed. My series had not yet begun to assail the UK audience. In any case the three of us ended up doing a bit of “busking” right there on the street. There were no curtain calls – no curtain, you see – and there was little time for bows or for applause.

Presently, Hugh Laurie is wowing American audiences with his TV series, “House,” the story of a very irreverent and acerbic medical diagnostician – Dr. Gregory House – and I envision all sorts of awards coming to this series and to actor Laurie. In any case reader Brian Miller provides us with a few quotes from the “House” script:

You talk to God, you're religious. God talks to you, you're psychotic.

Faith; that's another word for ignorance, isn't it? I've never understood how people can be so proud of believing in something with no proof at all, like that's an achievement.

February 16, 2007 - Screencaps for Insensitive. No suprise - House has been picked up by Fox for another year. (Hollywood Reporter)

PBS is airing "The Best of Masterpiece Theatre" in many markets on March 4. They list Hugh as one of the stars reminiscing about their roles (in this case it will be Bertie from Jeeves and Wooster). I don't know if this is new material or something Hugh has commented about previously. Check your local listings for airdates and/or times: (From the Boston Affliate)

Fun read from September 2005 written by pre-House Hugh Laurie fan Rebecca Bauman who found herself even more in love with him as House - and her fear (correct) that he would become as popular as the likes of George Clooney, forcing her to have to find someone less "obvious" to transfer her affections to. [Excerpt]

When I found out that he was going to be playing a yank on the Fox network, I have to say, I was worried.

I didn't want fickle American TV audiences breaking my poor Laurie's heart. And, since medical dramas are a dime a dozen, I figured that his chances of survival were ... well ... I don't want to even think about what I thought.

But I was wrong. "House" was received with warm reviews and a slowly expanding network ratings share.

Laurie came through. He was praised by television critics time and again for his work as the damaged doctor, and magazine editors were calling him "the thinking woman's sex symbol."

Which kind of ticked me off. More women fawning over my Mr. Laurie meant more competition, and I don't care for any competition.

February 7, 2007 - Lots more SAG/PGA/Golden Globe photos have been added to the Awards Gallery. TV Guide (Feb 12, 2007) features an engaging guest column by Stephen Fry. Stephen is guest starring in a couple of Bones episodes(beginning tonight) filmed on the Fox lot near the House sound stages.

Stephen also talks about Hugh in this video clip at Fox's official site.

House episode # 3.15 (Half-Wit) promo photos can be found in the House Season Three page. Spoilers, scroll down. TV Guide also features a mention by Greg Grunberg that Band From TV will be doing a song for the upcoming House soundtrack. No word yet on what the tune is, or when the soundtrack will be released. Look for more Band From TV news in the coming weeks.

Korbi Ghosh over at E! online (Watch with Kristin) had this to say about House last night:

House: The good and bad of House in a wheelchair? Makes it harder for him to stare down Cuddy’s shirt. But his vantage point on her ass? Much improved. Um, how does Hugh Laurie manage to make being in a wheelchair hot? Hmmm, can someone answer me that? The man was killing me in that T-shirt and jeans last night. So sexy. Let’s discuss.

House's overnight ratings for last night's episode (Needle in Haystack) were very strong. Zap2it

Speaking of, the ratings for this episode broke records for Fox: (From the New York Times)

‘House’ Raises the Bar

Getting a boost from “American Idol,” Fox’s “House,” starring Hugh Laurie, posted its highest ratings ever Tuesday, drawing 27.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen’s estimates. Among adults 18 to 49, the 9 p.m. episode of “House” had the best ratings of any scripted show on any network in nearly a year, and no other hour of drama on Fox has delivered more viewers in more than 10 years. Fox commanded the night as “American Idol” remained up over a year ago with 33.3 million viewers at 8. Opposite Fox’s programming, NBC, CBS and ABC broadcast mostly reruns. A new installment of ABC’s “Boston Legal” led at 10 in total viewers (9.4 million), but NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” repeat (8.3 million) finished on top among the 18-to-49 set. In January’s cable news race, MSNBC continued narrowing the gap with CNN in prime time; Fox News has been No. 1 for five consecutive years. Among adults 25 to 54, MSNBC was up 45 percent compared with last January (to 217,000 from 150,000), while CNN had a 29 percent increase (to 260,000 from 202,000). Fox News improved 22 percent (to 389,000 from 319,000), remaining especially dominant in total viewers (1.6 million) compared with CNN (809,000) and MSNBC (530,000). BENJAMIN TOFF
