OK Magazine, November 7, 1997. Hugh poses for the 1998 Powergen Calender. The photographer, Bob Carlos Clarke passed away in March of this year.
As well as remarks in the magazine, Bob Carlos Clarke also had this quote for The Mirror (11/8/1997):
The pose is reminiscent of the young Marlon Brando in The Wild One.
But the man with his arms around a beautiful Bond girl is an unlikely choice of model. It's Hugh Laurie - and his image is that of the perfect English gentleman.
Or so photographer Bob Carlos Clarke thought when he asked him to pose for his 1998 PowerGen calendar. In aid of the British Red Cross, it has the theme of "Desire". "I had no idea he was going to come across all cool and Hell's Angels-like," Bob says. "Nor did I realise he was a 6ft 2in former Cambridge oarsman, very well-built and surprisingly macho. I had intended to picture Hugh on a motorbike - but as a Bertie Wooster character, with an old leather flying helmet and a scarf.

The funny fella, who plays Borat and is currently tearing up the box office, was seen steppin' out of character at the SNL after-party for host Hugh Laurie. Sapa in New Yawk. S.B.C. was hugged by producer Lorne Michaels and later exchanged laughs and drinks with SNL castmembers Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett.

Screencaps for Fools For Love. Fox has an new interview clip with Hugh, RSL and David Morse here. They also have new episode clips on their homepage. Look for the little icons with the name of the show, scroll and click. If you have trouble viewing the clips, you are not alone. Many people have trouble with the clips on the Fox website. Mac users in particular won't be able to view the interview clips.
