I will be adding more Emmy coverage as it becomes available. Also, many photos of Hugh rehearsing for the post Emmy party with the Band from TV Saturday afternoon will be posted tomorrow or Monday.
August 24, 2006 - There is a 21 minute interview at TVGuide.com with members of Hugh's band - BNS. (Atlhough I believe it's been changed to the "Band from TV." ) It's a streaming video with lots of stops and starts and Hugh is interviewed last. Hugh's fellow bandmates have nice things to say about him though. For those of you who have trouble with the video and very little patience, I have made a mov version of Hugh's five minutes which you can find here. The band is recording a DVD for charity and is also trying to pull a big network TV gig together. The band donates all proceeds to various band member charities. Hugh's charity is Save the Children
There is also a brief glimpse of Hugh behind the scene on House on Extra tonight. Video at their site.
August 22, 2006 - TV Guide, August 28th. (Spoilers in the article)

Hugh is featured on Extra tonight in a blurb about what the stars are wearing to the Emmys. Visit their site to see a video clip. Access Hollywood also featured a clip of Hugh and the band he plays with - BNS (Battle of the Network Stars)- rehearsing to play at the TV Guide post - Emmy party. Link to clip on Access Hollywood's website.
I have also added video clips and screencaps from both mentions to the video page.
From Extra:
"House" star Hugh Laurie, on the other hand, had no reservations about sharing his Emmy night garb: "It's very exciting, very exciting. I have picked my dress out," he joked. "It's a primrose yellow. Floaty, I think, is the word."

Also in this issue is a review of the season 2 DVD:
Also this mention of Hugh from an interview with Conan O"Brien in the same issue:
Question: Some hit shows like Lost and Desperate Housewives were snubbed this year. Can you make up some awards for them so they don't feel too bad?
Conan: I'm backstage much of the time, and there's a large table of Emmys back there, but nobody's really guarding them. This is frontier justice - I'm just handing out Emmys to people who I think deserve them. Hugh Laurie, I've told him to meet me in the parking lot behind the Shrine Auditorium and I'm giving him - it'll say Technical Emmy for Lighting, but he can get another nameplate. And who can stop me? I suppose the Academy, or anybody with a litte bit of muscle mass. Or even a particularly tall girl.
August 15, 2006 - Hugh is in the latest issue of In Style Magazine (US - September) in "The Sexy List A to Z."
There are a few blurbs about Hugh and the Emmy awards in the latest issue of TV Guide (Aug 21-27). This photo is on the cover:
From the Emmy memories feature:
There is also a page featuring the Emmy gift bags - which are taxable.
Cass sent these scans from the UK first edition of the Gunseller: (Much thanks!)

August 13, 2006 - Screencaps and video clip from Fox's 2006 Fall Season Preview.
August 12, 2006 - Life with Judy Garland - Me and My Shadows.
What was on Hugh's Christmas wish list in 2001? See for yourself: (From the Daily Mail)
"Six really good plots for novels, coffee beans, Macintosh iBook laptop computer, Hornby train set, thirty-foot 'Sloop' yacht with teak deck, Macallen Whisky, a bowl of cherries, Triumph 955i motorbike, and Steinway Grand Piano."
And what would Hugh be like as God? In his own words from a Clive Anderson series on channel Five, called I Am God (aka God Almighty) - 2003. Printed by The Daily Mail:
"BEING God, I would like to look like Robert Mitchum, but with the voice of Orville - a booming 'godly' voice is so 1990s. I would also redress the inequalities between men and women by giving men much larger sperm and fewer of them.
Women have a small number of eggs, so it is a great burden on them to decide who they are going to allow to impregnate them.
If men had bigger sperm they would have to be more responsible and thoughtful about where they deliver them. I would like to have a Mrs God to share my duties with.
On the whole I am content with the way of the natural world, but I would expect that she would want to change a few things, such as colour schemes.
Does the rainforest have to be green? Surely lilac would be much nicer."

Review of the House Season 2 DVD from DVD talk
The Hollywood News has links to Universal's video clip ads for the DVD
Corien has reported that House will begin airing in the Netherlands on August 17th. She has kindly translated the Dutch Text ;-)
SBS 6 brings you the hit series House in August.
The American top series House will be airing on SBS6 starting August 17th. The series is an absolute hit ( ratings) in all countries it's broadcasted, and in the USA its third season will soon start.
The British actor Hugh Laurie starts in the with an Emmy and Golden Globe awarded series.
He is the cynical doctor Gregory House, who often is the "untreatable patient with the mystery disease"s ( sorry, still to early for propoer translations ;) )last hope .House will be airing Thursday 17th of August, and can be viewed weekly at 21.30.
In House everything evolves around the cynical doctor Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), who is somewhat of a loner and if it were up to him he would avoid all contact with his patients. Nevertheless he has an incredible reputation because of his flawless instincts. This together with his predilection for medical puzzles make him the last hope of patients with 'untreatable' mysterious unusual illnesses.
House has gathered an elite team of young medical experts around him. Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps) is a neurologist with a somewhat shady past, Dr. Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) a passionate immunologist and Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) who is a smart but self-important IC-physician. Together with them House tries to safe the patients life in an unconventional manner. He calmly lets a member of his team break into a patients house to look for clues for example.
In the first episode House and his team deal with Rebecca Adler, a young nursery school teacher. She collapsed in front of her class, after she started talking gibberish. Subsequently she started convulsing. In hospital it is decided that Gregory House is the right person to treat this patient because she is deteriorating quickly. House ad his team have a hard time finding the right diagnosis, but eventually all puzzle pieces fall into place.
House is a huge hit in all countries it's airing in, like the USA, England, Australia en Italy. In the US the third season starts in September. Additionally the series received several prizes, among which an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for star Hugh Laurie (famous for his roles in Blackadder and Sense and Sensibility).
House
17 augustus 21.30 SBS 6.
August 8, 2006 - Screencaps from two promos for House aired on Fox during Sleeping Dogs Lie tonight. Video clip - two clips edited together
August 4, 2006 - Small article from the June issue of First Magazine regarding Hugh's success in the US and how some other British actors compare.
There is a mention of this very subject in Jenelle Riley's latest interview with Ian McShane (Backstage.com) Exceprt:
McShane is also aware that many British actors -- including his Deadwood co-star Brian Cox and House's Hugh Laurie -- are winning raves playing Americans. Asked to explain this, McShane muses, "Timothy Olyphant said to me the other day, 'You've got the chops. You've been around.' British actors don't tend to have planned careers. You don't get into film and do a series of films. My first job was a big movie. My second job was an experimental play in the theatre. My third job was a West End play. My fourth job was live TV. Then I made a record, then back to the movies. You don't pigeonhole yourself. That's an English actor."
More TCA Press Tour Photos, as well as this spoilerish blurb from Hugh at the TCA Fox Summer Party when talking to TV Guide's Mike Ausiello:
Originally published August 2, 2006
Question: Any news on House? Please tell me Cameron and Chase will finally get together…. You know, when she's not high. Elizabeth
Ausiello: Make up your minds, kids. Do you want Cameron with Chase or with House? (Sounds like the makings of a great TVGuide.com poll!) I know which way Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) would vote. Although she was a no-show at Fox's press-tour bash last week, an adorably tongue-tied Hugh Laurie delivered or, rather, attempted to deliver a message on her behalf. Here's our exchange:
Laurie: I'm going to tread here very carefully because Jennifer is actually still working. She asked me to say… can I say this? Because it's going to get her into such trouble. I'm going to have to let her say it. She will get her opportunity to say it.
Ausiello: C'mon, give me a hint.
Laurie: She is keen to see a… a…. a… development of the relationship we hinted at before. She put it more graphically.
Ausiello: She wants to see House and Cameron have sexual intercourse?
Laurie: Wow! I thought there were whole steps [leading] up to that, but you went right there.
Ausiello: How do you feel about it?
Laurie: I feel as awkward as [House] does. It's inappropriate in so many ways, and yet if two people are attracted, then I suppose there's not much you can do. But I'm 50 times her age and I'm her employer and I can't see good things coming from it.
A few more small spoilers from TV Guide and the press tour can be found on the House season 3 page

August 1, 2006 - Screencaps from Inside the Actors Studio. Lots of them. ;-) I have also added selected clips from the evening to the video page. Several people have emailed to ask if hl.net will add the entire show, and the answer is no. I hope that the episode will eventually become available to anyone without access to Bravo, friends or other resources. I have posted clips where Hugh dicusses his background, parents, and his schooling, as well as his answers to the famous Proust Questionnaire and the audience Q and A.
