Hugh didn't win the SAG award, but it's thrilling he was nominated, along with an Emmy nomination and of course his Golden Globe win, Television Critic's Award win and the Golden Satellite Award! Congratulations to Hugh for all of the great recognition by critics, fans and peers - it's well deserved, hard earned and couldn't happen to a more talented, gracious and classy person. hughlaurie.net would like to wish Hugh all the best and send a big thank you for bringing Greg House to life. He is one of the best characters on television. Ever. Here's hoping that in the future not only will Hugh continue to earn kudos for his work, but House will gain more of the recognition it deserves.
Note to Fox: We miss House. Alot.

Jan 28, 2006 - I've added a video clip (you need quicktime) of a couple of short snippets from Dragans of New York - a pilot Hugh co-wrote for CBS in 2002. It was never picked up. Hugh had this to say about it:
"It's a shame [that is wasn't picked up] because I still have a real fondness for it. But that's the nature of things in the U.S. right now - if you're not making 'C.S.I.' you're in trouble. I'm still learning the intricacies of the business here."

Hugh was a guest on the Stephen Wright Radio Show aired on the BBC today - pre-recorded. To save you the time of trying to find it in on the BBC site, visit Marykir's page to listen to the segment with Hugh. She also has several video clips that fans have shared from the Backstage Q and A. I was hoping someone might share a clip with this site because it would be nice to have, but alas, no. :(

Jan 19, 2006 - Another Hugh and House alert! Mina has written to inform us that House will be one of the featured shows at this year's Paley Festival at the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles. It's a GREAT opportunity for fans of the show to meet and mingle with the stars of the show - March 8th at 7:00 P.M. Tickets go on sale Jan 26 to members, then Feb 2 to the general public. They go quickly. Visit the MRT for more info.

Television week, Jan 9 - Bad Boys Rule
Not that anyone needs reminding, but the Golden Globes will be broadcast on Monday, Jan 16th. I will be at work for the better part of the day and evening, but will post photos, screencaps and video clips as soon as I can. I'm sure there will be several sources posted in the links section who will have lots of goodies posted in the meantime. :-) I found a Wireimage clip of Hugh on the red carpet for the Emmys I had neglected to post earlier - it gives you a hint of the chaos on the red carpet at these awards shows. Only this: I saw Hugh Laurie yesterday morning at the Farmer's Market in L.A. He couldn't have looked more adorable--with a bucket hat and a tennis racket strapped across his back and that post workout glow. He sat two tables away and was so friendly to everyone around him. I think, perhaps, I may have yet another Future Husband. (I know, I'm a whore.)
Jan 8, 2006 - A friend in the UK who is a huge Marg Helgenberger fan (CSI) sent this UK Channel 5 promo ad clip featuring actors from the upcoming new season. (Thanks Scott!) Video clip and a few screencaps. You will need Quicktime to view it. Marykir also has a couple of the new promos from the UK, as well as new Fox clips posted on her clips site as avi files. If you don't know about Marykir's site - visit it. She has tons of old Hugh interviews and TV appearances. I have some of them, but haven't had a chance to post them yet. She also has most everything the cast of House has done the past year or so - including lots of House promo ads and talk show appearances.
Also, this UK ad photo has been floating around the internet. It's not mine and apologies to who ever first posted it (if it's you, let me know and I'll give credit where credit is due:) It's too good not to post here! It's been featured in a couple of UK magazines as well.
